Partner Richard Adams to Retire, Ivy Tsai Elevated to Partnership

With mixed emotions we announce the upcoming retirement of our partner Richard L. Adams II, effective December 31, 2020. Richard has practiced law since 1977, and has been in public agency law since 1989. He joined Jones & Mayer in November 2007 and was made partner in 2016. During that time he has served as City Attorney for Grand Terrace, South Pasadena, and Upland, as well as Assistant and Deputy City Attorney for numerous cities.

Within the office Richard has been a cherished member of the Jones & Mayer family and has contributed greatly to the overall morale of the firm.   We will miss his stories, his good humor and his kindness. Good luck and best wishes, Richard!

We are pleased to announce that Ivy M. Tsai will become the newest partner at Jones & Mayer effective January 1, 2021. Ivy is currently serving as the City Attorney for the cities of Lakewood and Santa Fe Springs. She joined Jones & Mayer in 2004 and has focused on municipal law.

Ivy has a Bachelor of Arts in political science from UCLA and was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2002. In addition to being an excellent attorney, Ivy is steeped in the firm’s culture and is adept at making others feel at home and a part of the team. She strives to reach out to staff and make sure they are recognized for their efforts. Ivy is an integral part of the Jones & Mayer family and we celebrate her success. Congratulations, Ivy!
