Baron J. Bettenhausen is a partner with Jones Mayer in the transaction and public law division and currently serves as city attorney to the City of Fort Bragg and assistant city attorney for the City of Fullerton. Mr. Bettenhausen is experienced in managing the legal needs of public agencies throughout California. His practice includes advising and training city councils and planning commissions regarding legislative updates, the Brown Act, conflict of interest, land use, and environmental issues. He has advised numerous city departments, commissions, and staff on compliance with the ever-changing regulatory landscape public agencies face. He is well versed in CEQA, public works, real estate, and in researching and preparation of municipal code sections, drafting and reviewing agreements, handling Public Record Act requests, and preparing legal opinions and analysis on a variety of issues affecting public entities.

Baron J. Bettenhausen is a Partner with Jones Mayer in our Transaction and Public Law Division and has experience serving as primary legal advisor to a wide range of government agencies including as City Attorney, Assistant City Attorney, general counsel, and special counsel to many municipal agencies and special districts. Mr. Bettenhausen is experienced in managing the legal needs of public agencies.
